My friend said, “Don’t publish a link to your virtual presentation because if people see it they won’t want to come hear you perform live when it is safe to do so.” Here are some of the comments I received immediately after viewing my presentation for the City of West Hollywood’s Yom HaShoah commemoration…which made me think otherwise.
“Thank you, Harriet, for your beautiful renditions of the music and poetry from the ghettos under Nazi terror. Your efforts to present this touches everyone who sees it.”…Robert Fiske
“Your program was beautiful and so moving. My husband and I were captivated by your presentation. It is perhaps one of the best presentations of this music we’ve ever heard. You are amazing. Your musicianship, your scholarship, your respect and sensitivity are so impressive.”…Barbara Tellerman
“That stunning song gave me goosebumps. This was an extremely powerful presentation and I am so lucky to have been able to see it.”…Liv Worthen
“Wow, Emilia and I have gotten through 54 minutes so far. So moving. What a wonderful thing your mom is doing, continuing to share these important songs in Yiddish!”…Sam Newman
For those of you that were not able to watch the Yom HaShoah program live or maybe those of you who saw it and would like to replay some of the songs, here is a promo video highlighting some of the music in my concert. https://youtu.be/nbkYss9dZQ8
